When growth starts to feel like firefighting

The business grew. The way it runs did not. Now everything routes through you.

  • Every decision still lands on your desk
  • Your team waits on you to unblock their work
  • Processes live in people's heads, not on paper
  • Revenue is up, but so is the chaos
  • You have goals, but no weekly rhythm that drives them

These problems are common, and they are fixable. They need structure, not more hours from you.

Operations that run without you in the middle

Find the constraint

We locate what is actually slowing the business down, not what feels loudest this week.

Build the operating rhythm

Clear roles, scorecards, and a meeting cadence so work moves forward without waiting on you.

Make it stick

I stay in the seat until your team owns the system and it holds up on its own.

One operator across the whole business

A fractional COO connects the functions that usually work in silos. I focus on operations first, then tie in the rest so the business moves as one system.

Strategy, leadership, marketing, HR, sales, finance, and IT all run better when someone owns how they fit together.

Hi, I'm Paul Marz

I spent 20 years in operations at Disney, most recently as a Director of Operations leading a team of up to 75 and playing a key role in the Disney+ launch. I hold two U.S. patents in process design and ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 Lead Process Owner certifications.

Big-company discipline does not have to come with big-company overhead. I bring the same rigor to founder-led businesses that have outgrown the owner doing everything, and I work shoulder to shoulder with you and your team.

You get a straight-talking operator who builds the system, trains the people, and measures the result.

How I work

Three steps, no long contracts to start.

1. Conversation

A free call to learn your business, your goals, and where it hurts. If I am not the right fit, I will tell you.

2. Plan

A short, ranked list of the highest-impact fixes, with owners and timelines your team can commit to.

3. Run

I work inside your business as a part-time COO, installing the systems and coaching the team until it runs without me.

Ways to work together

Pick the level of support that matches where the business is today.

Operations Assessment

A focused look at how the business runs today. You get a clear picture of what is slowing you down and a ranked plan to fix it.

Fractional COO

An ongoing, part-time operating partner. I run the rhythm, own the execution, and build the team's ability to run without you.

Project Sprint

A defined project with a start and an end, such as fixing a broken process, onboarding a new leader, or standing up a scorecard.

What changes when operations get tight

  • Meetings get shorter and decisions get faster
  • Your team knows who owns what
  • Problems surface early instead of landing on you late
  • You spend your time on growth, not on firefighting
  • The business is worth more because it does not depend on you

Common questions

What does a fractional COO do?

A fractional COO does the work of a full-time Chief Operating Officer on a part-time basis. That means owning the operating rhythm, tracking the numbers, fixing broken processes, and holding the team accountable, at a fraction of the cost of a full-time executive.

How many hours a month do you work with a client?

It depends on the business and the stage. Most engagements start with a few focused hours a week. We set the level of support together on the first call.

Who is this for?

Founder-led businesses that have outgrown the owner doing everything. If you are the person every decision still runs through, this is built for you.

How is this different from a consultant?

A consultant hands you a report. I work inside your business, build the systems with your team, and stay until they hold.

What happens on the first call?

We talk through your business, your goals, and your biggest operational headaches. You leave with a clear view of where to start, whether or not we work together.
